Tata Motors has launched the new Tiago hatchback at an introductory price of Rs. 3.20 lakh (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai) in the country. The bookings of the hatchback have already commenced at a token amount of Rs 10,000. Tata Motors will surely re-gain the lost faith of the customers with this compact hatchback offering aimed not only at the products like Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai i10.

Speaking of the exterior, the designers at the Tata Motors has not only worked on the silhouette pretty well, but also put a lot of efforts into detailing. Being based on the indica’s X0 platform, the new Tata Tiago measures 3,746 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm with a ground clearance of about 170 mm. It features smokey headlights that merge with honeycomb grille, wraparound taillamps and integrated roof spoiler.
Inside, apart from good legroom and headroom, it features adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, a Harman infotainment system with best in class music system, Bluetooth, AUX-In and USB connectivity, steering mounted audio controls & smartphone integration via Tata ConnectNEXT, TFT display. The multifunction steering wheel is the same traditional three spoke design which you get in Bolt and Safari.
Mechanically, the Tata Tiago hatchback comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is a is a trimmed down version of the 1.2-litre 3-cylinders Revotron engine that powers the Bolt and the Zest. The engine is capable to produce 85 PS @ 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3500 rpm, while the diesel unit is a newly developed 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine made of an aluminium head with cast iron block that cranks out 70 PS @ 4000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1800-3000 rpm.
