The limited edition of the Tata Tiago has been spotted testing for the first time on the road and is expected to be soon launched in the Indian market. The special edition of Tiago is based on the XT variant rather than the top-end XZ version.
The Tata Tiago, launched last year, was able to perform well in terms of sales in the Indian market. With the growing demand in this segment, Tata Motors is focusing on the special edition of the car to consolidate its position in the Indian market and gain further growth.
The limited edition is based on the Impact design philosophy with all-black roof and glossy black ORVMs to provide it with an elegant look. The car will be running on 13-inch wheels rather than the standard 14-inch one. It will also receive blue-dotted wheel rims and manually operated ORVMs. The dashboard gets a new look finished in piano black with reddish berry touch.
The India-bound limited version is expected to derive its power from the same set of engines used by the regular version of Tiago. The car is expected to have options of both petrol and diesel units. The petrol variant will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 83 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel version will be equipped with a 1.05-litre diesel engine, which will develop a maximum power of 68 bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The limited edition of Tiago will directly compete with the likes of the new Maruti Celerio, Maruti Wagon R and the new Hyundai Grand i10 in the Indian market.
