Tata Motors has increased the price across all variants of its recently launched compact hatchback Tiago by Rs 6,000 - Rs 8,000. During the launch, the Tiago hatchback priced between Rs 3.2 lakh to Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The hike in the price has been introduced when the car manufacturer has received 40,000 bookings within first four months.
It is also expected that the prices might increase further before the festive season. Being one of the best selling cars by Tata Motors, it has as much as 38 percent of the total domestic sales of the company, where the brand sold a total 13,586 units in July out of which 5,114 units were the Tiago. It has a waiting period of of 3 -4 months and the company is scheduling the production plans at its Sanand facility to curb the waiting period.
The hatchback is offered in both petrol and diesel options – the petrol unit comes with 1.2-litre 85 PS motor with a peak torque of 114Nm while the diesel variant is powered by 1.05-litre Revotorq motor delivering 70PS of power and 140Nm of torque. Both the engines are connected to a 5-speed manual transmission.
