- Tata Tiago, Tigor gets 7-inch touchscreen with Apple Carplay Compatibility
- Both models retain same set of Engines
With the soaring sales mark by the homegrown car manufacturer, Tata Motors has been a good contender against many mass market drillers, with its Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan. The Tiago hatch compete with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Volkswagen Polo and the likes and the Tigor compact sedan rivals against Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford aspire, where all these models are offered with a 7-inch touchscreen unit compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Tata’s both models were missing out the latter from their system.
To keep it afresh for the buyers, Tata Motors also added some features in the then new XZ+ variant. It comes packed with stylish headlamps, alloy wheels along with a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display instead of a 5.0-inch unit, offered earlier.
Now, this 7-inch unit is Apple CarPlay compatible, though it already had the Android Auto feature. So, in short, the new add-on makes it more intuitive for the iPhone functioning.
Under the bonnet, both the Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan will continue to come with the same set of powertrain – a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 85 bhp with a peak torque of 114 Nm and a 1.05 diesel unit that develops 70 bhp of maximum power and a maximum torque of 140 Nm. Transmission duties are carried out with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
