Tata Tiago XT variant has been dropped from the line-up, reports in media suggest. It was slotted between XM and XZ variants. With the omission of XT variant, the entry-level hatchback is now available in five trims including XE, XM, XZ, XZO and XZ+. In terms of features, the XT offered , steel wheels with full wheel caps,power adjusting wing mirrors, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth, infotainment system sourced from Harman, four speakers, keyless entry and several others.
As for the base XE variant, it gets 13-inch wheels with hub caps, internally adjustable outside rear view mirrors, 2.5-inch MID, air-conditioner and dual-tone interiors. Positioned a notch above XE is the XM trim which comes with a bunch of additional features over the standard bits on the base variant. It gets speed depending auto door lock, 13-inch wheels with half wheel caps, manual central locking and power windows.
The newly introduced XZ variant on the other hand, comes with electrically outside rear view mirrors, 14-inch steel rims with dual-tone wheel caps, Harman sourced infotainment system with 4 speakers, multi-function steering wheel and Bluetooth, etc. Coming to the XZO variant, it equips day/night inside rear view mirror, 14-inch steel rims with dual-tone caps, cooled glove box, a touchscreen infotainment system and a defogger.
In addition to the above features, the top-spec XZ+ comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connecitivty features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone roof, height adjusting driver’s seat, power adjusting ORVMs, projector headlamps and automatic climate control. As for the Tata Tiago specs, it is available with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with 84 bhp of top power and 114 Nm of torque. Diesel varints get a 1.05-litre oil burner which puts out 69 bhp of maximum power along with 140 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a conventional 5-speed manual unit and a 5-speed AMT gearbox which is offered with XZA and XZA+ variants. Standard safety kit on the Tata Tiago range includes anti-lock-braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, reverse parking sensors, dual front airbags, speed alert system, passenger seat belt reminder and corner stability control.
