Tata Tigor EV is an interesting zero emission pure electric compact sedan in the Indian market, but the car is yet to be available for the private customers across the country. The car is presently available for the government agencies. As it appears, Tata Motors is aiming to launch it for the customers soon. It will be launched for the private customers in a phased manner.
As the homegrown automaker reveals, the compact sedan will be initially launched in few cities across the country. After evaluating the response, the brand will roll out the model in more cities across India. As the company indicates, lack of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in India is the prime concern for the brand. The launch strategy for the Tigor EV will centre around the availability of the charging infrastructure.

Meanwhile Tata Motors have delivered 1,000 units of the Tigor EV electric sedan to the Maharashtra government as part of the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) tender. In India, Mahindra and Tata Motors are the two big automakers that have already developed electric cars, while Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its first electric car in the country in 2020.
Not only the Tigor EV, the brand also produced the Tiago EV as well. Both the Tata Tigor EV and Tata Tiago EV share the same electric motor. What’s more interesting is that the automaker has revealed that its Zest and Bolt too are capable of being electrified.
