Tata Motors finally revealed the much-awaited Tata Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP versions in their production avatar on 24 October 2018. And the equally anticipated launch will take place on 26 October 2018 and dealerships have bookings for the car with the amount set at Rs 11,000.
Deliveries of the JTPs will only commence next month as dealers are yet to receive stock. However, buyers who book the car now will be eligible for priority delivery.

The JTP siblings are powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 114hp and 150Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and Tata claims the Tiago JTP is capable of doing the 0-100kph sprint in just 9.95sec, while the Tigor JTP takes 10.38 sec. The duo also gets multi-drive modes – Sport for performance, and City for efficiency.

The JTPs get a revised exterior with a new front bumper with an enlarged grille, chrome-ringed projector headlights, 15-inch alloys with wider 185-section tyres, side skirts, rear spoiler, a contrasting black roof and outside mirrors and ‘JTP’ badging on the grille, fender vents and at the back.

The interiors get an all-black treatment with contrasting red stitching and trim bits. There are red surrounds for the AC vents, the leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as the gearshift gaiter, features contrast red stitching. The seats sport a red hexagonal pattern stitched into them, and there’s double contrast stitching on them. Even the pedals are finished in aluminium to enhance the sporty character. Additionally, both JTP cars get a Harman 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice command recognition. Also standard are dual airbags and ABS with corner stability control.
Prices for the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will be announced at the launch on October 26. Expect the performance-focused versions to cost about Rs 1 lakh more than the standard cars.
