Tata Motors has teased the upcoming special edition of its subcompact sedan, Tigor through a video on its social media handle days ahead of its official launch scheduled for October 10, 2018. The video clip reveals the chrome-finished tail-lamp. According to Tata Motors, the special edition Tigor will sport “white crystal effect on the crystal inspired LED tail-lamps.”
Set for festive season launch, the limited edition Tata Tigor sees no change in aesthetic terms, save for the additional styling bits. As shown in the video, it will come with a new Buzz Blue exterior colour and an additional chrome finish on the headlamps. Though, the company is yet to reveal other details about the upcoming special edition, it is expected that the special edition Tigor will be based on the fully-packed, top-of-the-line variant.
On the mechanical front, special edition Tigor is expected to carry over the same engine set-up that powers the regular version. That said, it is expected to get the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine good for maximum power of 85 bhp at 6,000 rpm against 114 Nm and 70 bhp at 4,000 rpm with 140 Nm respectively. As for the regular version, it comes with a choice between a standard five-speed manual gearbox and an optional 5-speed AMT unit on select petrol trims. The AMT unit is however expected to be left out on the limited edition Tata Tigor. Based on its donor hatchback Tiago, the Tata Tigor subcompact sedan takes on the likes of top-selling models in the segment including Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Vento.
