The homegrown Indigenous automaker, Tata Motors released the first teaser of its upcoming hatchback, Tata Tigor Sport, ahead of its official debut. The car is lined-up to be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi.
The all-new Tata Tigor Sport is the performance variant of the popular sedan, Tigor and with this, the company is set to enter the performance car segment. The teaser image provides a glimpse of the performance variant, which reveals certain features of it clearly.
Based on the company’s latest 2.0 design philosophy, the car features a more pronounced styling with several cosmetic updates over the regular variant. The front of the car gets smoked projector headlights, new mesh grille with the matte finish, sportier bumper with larger air dams and new fog lamp housing with red detailing.
The side profile of the Tigor Sport gets red brake callipers, ORVMs and sportier alloy wheels. The wheels are expected to get the 15-inch rims that are fetched from the standard model. At the rear, the car gets a spoiler along with a sporty bumper. It is expected to have a lower ground clearance from the standard model, as a result of a stiff suspension setup and a revised bumper.
The all-new Tata Tigor Sport is expected to get an all-black interior that is the synonym to its sporty character. Besides the sporty seats, it is likely to sport a multi-functional steering wheel, dual-pod instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Mechanically, the India-bound Tigor Sport is most likely to be driven by the 1.2-litre Revotron, three-cylinder petrol turbocharged engine that churns out a maximum power output of 110 bhp against a peak torque of 170 Nm. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Tata Tigor Sport is jointly produced by the Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives. It is likely to be priced around Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom)
