Tata Motors, in awe of the festive season, has silently launched the Tigor XM at a sticker price of Rs. 4.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It will be offered in petrol and diesel fuel types with manual transmission. Tata Tigor XM will be available across all Tata Motors authorised dealerships, starting September 15, 2017, in a phased manner. The Tigor XM diesel comes at an introductory price of Rs. 5.81 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The XM variant is placed between the entry-level XE variant and mid XT variant, while it packs nine new features.
According to Mr. Vivek Srivatsa – Head – Marketing, PVBU, Tata Motors, “We are constantly working towards filling in spaces in each segment and TIGOR XM is our response to this growing segment. As per our turnaround strategy, we are working with a renewed focus and energy to improve our market share and bring products faster to market.” The Tigor XM comes loaded with exciting features like a class leading infotainment system, manual central locking with key, power windows for front and rear, speed dependent auto door locks, follow me home lamps, LED fuel gauge, full fabric seat upholstery, interior lamps with theatre dimming and full wheel covers. The company is also contemplating introduction of AMT variants across both petrol and diesel fuel trims.
Surprisingly, Tata Tigor XM doesn't get Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC), nor it comes with dual front airbags as standard safety features. Mechanically, it comes loaded with same set of petrol and diesel engines without any update in power and torque figures. The petrol variants are powered by the 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron engine which develops maximum power of 84bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 3500rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variants get their power from a 1.05L 3-cylinder Revotorq engine which churns out 69bhp at 4000rpm and 140Nm between 1800-3000rpm. Both the engine are linked to a 5-speed manual transmission and boast of Multi-drive mode system with two modes: Eco and City.
