The latest offering from Tata Motors, the Zica compact hatchback has been recently photographed completely undisguised by our friends at the Autosarena. This is the first completely revealing shots of the Zica hatchback, which is slated to make its global premiere next week. The Zica hatchback was earlier known as the Kite (codename) hatchback.
Going by the spy shots, it's evident that Tata Motors has worked hard on the design and the Zica does look good, and sharp, thanks to the body lines and detailing. It will get the chrome touching on the foglamps, grille and interior door handles. Also seen in the images are the alloy wheels, rear wiper and rear parking sensors. A dual-tone black-and-beige interior and Harman sourced music system will grace the interiors.
Underpinning the Zica will be the Indica's XO platform which has been heavily modified to accommodate the new car. Tata Motors has worked on improving the NVH levels in the XO platform to give the Zica a plush ride quality. It will be powered by an all-new 1.2-lite three pot petrol motor and a 1.05-litre three cylinder diesel motor. The Zica is expected to get a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.
Tata Zica is expected to be priced in a range of Rs 3.50 Lakhs to Rs 4.0 lakhs and will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Hyundai i10. The car will be launched somewhere around January next year while the global debut is slated to happen in a week from now. Watch this space for the latest updates about the car!
