The BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will be the sixth edition of the event to be held in Mongolia. It is a very tough and adventurous two-wheeler competition where non-professional BMW GS motorcycle riders compete against each other on behalf of their respective nations. Riders across the world participate in this high-profile competition, where the riding and navigation skills of the participants are tested on a high-level.
The International competition is going to be a seven-day event and the participants will have to surpass approximately 2,000 kms of off-road adventure ride. The series of challenges throughout the ride will examine their mental toughness and physical fitness along with their working capacity as a team in unfavourable conditions.
All the countries form a team of shortlisted top-three performers from the national qualifier. India witnessed its first ever BMW GS Trophy national qualifier, where over 40 BMW GS bike owners across the nation took part. The finale of the qualifier took place on 29 October 2017, after a series of training and adventurous riding for three days.
The national qualifier for the event was held in Goa from the 26th September to the 29th of October this year. It was almost similar to the international event, where riders went through tough tests riding over the deadliest terrains. It witnessed some of the best bike riders around the country and India can hope for some good performance from them.
The qualified riders from all the countries taking part in the event will be given a personalized BMW GS bike along with riding gears and essential equipment required for the event.
