Tesla Motors has released a couple of fresh images of the upcoming Model 3. The new images of Tesla Model 3 seems to have come from the promotional shoot of the company. The Model 3 is priced at $35,000 in the U.S. market and bookings are accepted at $1,000 with deliveries promised by mid 2017. The Model 3 would be the most budget friendly Tesla ever made, and also the first Tesla model to be launched in India, as announced by CEO Elon Musk.
Going by the newly released images, the exterior styling of the Model 3 is nearly identical to the prototype which debuted around three months back. As the Model 3 is still under development, there is no word on the interior cabin. Though, Elon Musk, CEO, Tesla Motors, earlier tweeted that the cabin wouldn't be bland like in the current prototype. For those asking, the Model 3 has registered over 4 Lakh orders across the globe. The first deliveries would start by late 2017 in the US with priority being given to existing Tesla customers. Tesla Motors has already made it clear that it won't offer free charging at the Supercharger stations with the Model 3, and that the buyer had to pay extra for charging the car.
Tesla Model 3 has already started testing on public roads as recently three mules were spied in the US. The car would have a driving range of 346 kilometers. Powered by a 60kw hour lithium-ion battery pack, it would be capable of doing the 0-97kmph sprint under 6 seconds. The company would also offer ‘Ludicrous’ driving mode with the Model 3. It would be available in both Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) modes. As for India launch, it won't be available in the country before mid 2018 as Tesla would first build the infrastructure by setting up supercharger network across the nation. One can expect an introductory price of around Rs. 32 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) for the base trim.
