Heard the name Interceptor before? Yes, the same white police vehicle having big Interceptor logo written on it, catching all the vehicles exceeding the speed limits using the speed guns and all other fancy machinery. People hate them when on the highway, right? There is now a more bad news for offenders but a good one for the police and all the people who believe in safe driving. A new Radar gun has been invented which can catch you if you are texting while driving.

Conceived and designed by a company named ComSonics, based out of Virginia, USA, the device will detect the radio waves from an active phone inside a car. Many will be confused that how will it separate the calls which are taken on hands-free mode? Well, the device is designed in such a way that it can differentiate the frequencies coming out of mobile and isolate the signals from text messages. This will enable the person to talk on the hands-free more without getting caught. Impressive, we say!

"It's not all that different from what cable repairmen use to find damaged cable lines." said the spokesman for ComSonics, Malcolm McIntyre. He added further, that the gun-like device is "close to production". We ask you about your thoughts. Will the police be benefitted with such kind of technology? How will the technology segregate the vehicle where a passenger is sending a text message? How would law enforcement handle that?

Whatsoever may be the answer to our doubts, we really like the idea and appreciate the efforts made by ComSonics. We hope that this radar gun comes to India soon, considering the number of accidents that take place here while talking or texting on mobile.
