So our beloved X21 Draken concept from the 2014 AutoExpo has given birth to a bike that holds the future of the Apache brand in its hands and now the baby has been named and they are calling it, TVS Apache RTR 2004V. If the new bike will be able to carry the fame and legacy of the RTR nameplate further or not will be evident on the day of its launch on January 20th, 2016.
The name suggests that the Engine is a 4-Valve unit and understanding that it is an SOHC design, it would be safe to assume that the low-end torque on the bike will be good. TVS is going on with the marketing of the latest and the biggest Apache yet, with a tagline - 'Uncover the racer in you', and has launched a media contest on facebook for its fans and followers in Indonesia, with the prize being an opportunity to test ride the all new Apache RTR 2004V at the Sentul International Circuit on January 21st, just a day after it is launched in India.
As already mentioned, the Apache RTR 2004V will be a 200cc single cylinder which will be air-oil cooled producing a power output on the vicinity of 26Ps and 22 Nm of peak torque. The bike is expected to weigh around 140kg and is supposed to be launched in two variants, one with ABS while the other being a cheaper non-ABS version. Also, it is not yet clear if the Indian model will get Pirelli tires of TVS own SriChakra brand, while it is for sure that Indian model will have 90/90 spec tyre at the front and a 130/70 spec for the rear.
