Prior to the official launch of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, internet has been surfacing with the leaked images of the bike in its final avatar. The bike as we can see looks promising and yes, as expected it looks bit inspired from the Draken concept which was showcased at the 2014 AutoExpo. From the tank shrouds to the rear section, the bike does reminds of the Draken concept and no doubt the bike looks good but we shall hold our comments until we get to see it in flesh.
The bike sold in the country will be shod with TVS tyres but the ones exported out will be having Pirelli Angel-GT kit. According to the leaked images of the specification sheets, the bike propels a 197.75 cc 4-stroke, oil cooled single pot engine where the 4V suffix stands for 4-valve. This engine churns out 20.2bhp of max power at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 18Nm comes in at 7000 rpm. Though it is rumoured to be fast than the 200 Duke in 0-100 bracket but rumours doesn’t hold grounds when seeing the specifications. No way can the new Apache be faster than the KTM which weighs 136kgs and runs on a water-cooled engine generating 25.3bhp of power.
The LED DRLs on the headlight looks like the venomous teeth of a snake and yes it looks good. The instrumental cluster is fully digital unlike the previous generations RTRs and it comes loaded with a bunch of information like a lap timer, a clock, tacho meter, speedo meter, a service reminder, gear indicator, fuel-level indicator, trip meter and more information will be out when we get our hands on one when launched.
As seen through the pictures, the bike will come with ABS as an option which surely is a plus point when compared to its competitors like the KTM 200 Duke and Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. We expect it to be priced around INR 1.10 lakh to 1.20 lakh. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on the same and don’t forget to type in your comments below.
