Hero MotoCorp’s most popular commuter bike, Splendor has yet again taken the 1st position with a total number of sales of 24,86,965 units during the year against 25,17,189 units sold last year. With 24,66,350 units, Honda Activa is now at sniffing distance of the top position. The Activa sales grew 13.2 percent up from 21,78,227 units from the previous year. Now, if it continued to grow in sales number, we might have a new winner in FY17.
With 11,48,294 and 11,39,576 units of HF Deluxe and Passion, Hero MotoCorp managed to get a hold onto 3rd and 4th position. Passion registered a negative sale of 15 per cent, whereas HF Deluxe registered a hike of 6.1 per cent.
From Honda’s motorcycle portfolio, it was CB Shine that managed to take the 5th position with 7,98,699 units sold in FY2016. In a list which is intimidated by Hero and Honda, TVS’s XL Super and Jupiter were in 6th and 10th position among other bestsellers on the list in FY16 with 7,23,767 and 5,37,451 units sold respectively.
Moving up three positions, Hero Glamour was ranked at number 7 with 6,69,147 units sold this year against 5,51,486 units sold in the previous year. Only two models from Bajaj Auto managed to get into this list. The CT sales stood at 5,90,067 units and for Pulsar, it was 6,18,371 units.
