Toyota India will launch the facelifted Camry Hybrid tomorrow on 30th April, 2015 in the country. The launch is followed by the Camry Hybrid launch in Indonesian markets a couple of weeks back. Mr. Masato Katsumata, Chief Engineer, Toyota Motors Corporation and Naomi Ishii, MD, Toyota Kirloskar Motor will felicitate the launch.
The new Camry sedan was first unveiled at the Moscow Motor show in 2014 with several cosmetic changes. Like, inside the cabin, the new Camry will get a 3-spoke multi-function sports steering wheel. The instrument cluster is also improved and so is does the screen gets bigger. Likewise, the touch-screen infotainment system is also larger now that measures 6.1 inches.
On the exteriors, the sedan gets a new front fascia and redesigned headlamps neatly integrated into an all-new chrome grille. The design language is carried forward from the new Corolla Altis and the car flaunts freshly designed alloy wheels. On the rear of the car, one can see the LED tail-lamp cluster. Also, the LED DLRs will be provided in the new bumper.
Under the hood the Toyota Camry Hybrid will continue to get the same engine as the outgoing model. The engine will be a 2.5-litre unit that generates a maximum output of 202bhp. The engine will be mated to an e-CVT transmission. The electric motor is a 105KW rated permanent magnet motor that generates 270Nm of torque.
The Toyota Camry facelift will cost around Rs. 1 Lakh more than the outgoing model. We are not sure though, if like Indonesia, new Camry will be offered in a Petrol variant or not!
