The Japanese car manufacturer has cut down the prices on its popular products like Fortuner, Innova Crysta and Corolla Altis. The price slash is due to the reduction in total taxes on big cars and utility vehicles, under GST.
After GST Kicks in, the best deals that you can have your hands on for the popular Innova Crysta with up to Rs 98,500, new Fortuner SUV with price cut up to Rs 2.17 lakh and Corolla Altis sedan with up to Rs 92,500. The aforementioned figures are estimated and the difference in price will differ from state to state. These prices are revised on its big cars with price slash of by up to 13 percent. Toyota’s small cars like Etios Liva and Etios sedan has also been affected with the GST, where the both products are cheaper by up to Rs 10,500 and Rs 24,500, respectively.
As for the Hybrid cars, they have received a hit of 12.7 percent post GST, and the taxation has now increased from 30.3 percent to 43 percent. As a result, the price of hybrid cars for manufacturers like Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra will will witness a substantial hike. With that the Toyota Camry and Toyota Prius that come equipped with hybrid technology, are now costlier by up to Rs 350,000 in Bangalore and by up to Rs 524,000 in Delhi under GST.
Earlier, the Camry Hybrid was priced at Rs 36.88 lakh in New Delhi, Rs 42.07 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 32.35 lakh in Kolkata, Rs 39.90 lakh in Chennai and Rs 42.82 lakh in Bangalore, before GST kicked in. Toyota Camry has been a popular product for the buyers who want a comfortable and large sedan along with a greener motoring.
