It is reported that Toyota, the Japanese Car Major has captured the spot as the world’s ‘most valuable Automotive’ in 2013. Every year ‘BrandZ’, a data bank and resource for the information on all important brands, conducts a survey to announce the most valuable brand in the world. This announcement is based on the data collected by interviewing both ‘consumers’ and ‘professionals’. The annual survey is also conducted on the automobile industry as well. The results of survey conducted this year placed Toyota as number one ‘valuable brand’.
In the year 2012 BMW was declared number one brand by BrandZ and Toyota was placed second. This year Toyota has regained its place as number one; BMW came second and ‘Mercedes Benz’ came third. This means that the value of Toyota’s brand has reached nearly Dollars twenty four point five billions; and this is a healthy increase of nearly twelve percent. It is no wonder that Toyota has become an important player in the automobile industry.
The increase in the popularity of the vehicles produced by Toyota may be due to the fact that recently, keeping in mind the growing clamor for phasing out of fossil fuel and use of green energy, the company has concentrated its efforts in producing ‘hybrid’ cars. Toyota produced its first ‘hybrid’ vehicle in ‘1997’ and since then it has manufactured a number of well known ‘hybrid’ vehicles. Customers have enthusiastically accepted and bought its famous hybrid ‘models’ Toyota Prius’ and ‘Lexus’. As a matter of fact ‘Lexus’ occupies the tenth position as ‘Top 10’ ‘most valuable’ car in the world. As already stated earlier, ‘BrandZ’ has been conducting surveys and publishing results for nearly 8 ‘years’ and ‘Toyota’ has been given the top spot under these surveys six times during this period. It was given a ‘second’ spot twice. The sales of Toyota cars increased substantially in 2012 and car manufacturer sold nearly nine thousand point seventy five ‘million’ cars, thus increasing its percentage to twenty two point six percent.
