Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is gearing up to launch the new Etios Cross model on the 7th of May 2014. Ahead of its officially debut, the details of the variants, engine and powertrain options have surfaced online.
It is understood that the Toyota Etios Cross will be offered in a total of four variants - G, V, GD and VD. The Toyota Etios Cross G and V are the petrol powered offerings and will make use of a 1.2-litre unit that is able to produce 79PS of max power and 104Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre unit that is rated at 90PS and 132Nm of peak torque. The Etios Cross GD and VD variants on the other hand, are powered by a 1.4litre D4D diesel powerplant that is rated at 67PS and 170Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox.
In terms of standard features, all the four variants of the Etios Cross gets contrast coloured body kit with roof rails, diamond cut alloy wheels, power windows, tilt adjust for the steering, 2-DIN music system with AUX-IN and USB and leather wrapped steering. The pseudo-crossover will be offered in a total of eight colour options: Blue, Grey, Silver, Black, White, Orange, Red and Beige.
In the Indian market, the Toyota Etios Cross will compete with the likes of Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Cross Polo. We expect a sticker price ranging between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh to accompany the Etios Cross.
