Toyota Kirloskar Motors is all geared up to launch the all-new Fortuner on 7th November 2016 in India. Since the launch of the Fortuner in the country, it has been the most loved SUV among the consumers, garnering a huge fan following. And now, the same is expected from the new-upcoming model. The version of the Fortuner will be loaded with a host of new features and also few engines along with some gearbox options.
The exterior of the new Toyota Fortuner gets a more stylish appearance with sleek looks than its predecessor. It comes with redesigned bumpers integrated with fog lamps, bi-xenon LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights, chrome grille, a strong shoulder is quite noticeable with silver accent line running through it, while at the rear, it features a taillamp unit with LED and use of thick chrome, too.
Mechanically, the all-new Toyota Fortuner will be offered in company’s GD series diesel mill and a choice of petrol unit too. All these powertrain are currently employed in the recently launched Innova Crysta - a 2.4-litre oil burner that is good to make 146 hp with 400Nm of torque and a 2.8-litre unit with 173hp and 450Nm, while the petrol power unit will be a 2.7-litre engine that will crank out a good 160 hp along with 245Nm. The engine will come paired with either a manual gearboxes or an automatic transmission along with Toyota's 4WD system, which is now called Sigma 4.
In terms of features, the SUV gets myriads of it, including electrically adjustable driver's seat, cruise control, traction control system, downhill assist control system, reverse parking camera with sensors and more. It will be pitted against Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet’s Trailblazer, where its expected price range to be in Rs 25 lakh – Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The model has already reached the dealerships and bookings are already open.
