Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Fortuner Prices Hiked

Toyota India has announced a price hike in two of its best-selling models - Innova Crysta and Fortuner - by up to 2 per cent with effect from May. The hike in price is a result of rising commodity prices. However, the pricing of the other models in the company's portfolio in the Indian market would remain the same. In particular, the price of Fortuner SUV has been increased by 2 percent, while the price of Innova Crysta MPV has been raised by 1 percent. Now, Toyota Fortuner comes in a price range of Rs. 26.60-31.86 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) and Toyota Innova Crysta is priced in brakcet of Rs. 13.99-21.19 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).

"We are facing a challenge in terms of commodity prices, particularly metals, and therefore in order to offset the impact, we have passed it on to the customers," TKM Director and Senior Vice-President, sales and marketing, N Raja told PTI. The company, however, did not raise prices of its other models like Etios Series, sedan Corolla and premium sedan Camry. Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker has been having a gala time in the Indian market, owing to the stupendous response that the duo of Innova and Fortuner has received. The company has sold more than 85,000 units of the MPV since its launch in May last year, while it has retailed nearly 13000 units of Fortuner in just half an year since its launch in India.

Toyota registered a phenomenal growth of 52 percent in dometic sales in the month of April 2017 as compared to same period last year. The company sold a total of 12948 units in April 2017 as compared to 8529 sold during the same month last year. Besides the Innova Crysta and Fortuner, the new Corolla Altis, launched last month, has also got an amazing response, clocking in a growth of 75 percent and retaining its position as the segment leader. Toyota today introduced the Innova Touring Sport Edition to mark the first anniversary of the MPV in the Indian market. It was launched in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with automatic and manual transmissions in a price range of Rs. 17.79-22.15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).
