Toyota dealerships have started bookings for the new Innova, dubbed as the “Toyota Innova Cryta”. Customers can book the new Innova by paying Rs 50,000 and with deliveries have been promised to be made around May 2016. Undoubtedly, the Toyota Innova Crysta is the most awaited launch of this year and this bigger than before MPV is more powerful and luxurious.
Talking about the exterior, the new Innova receives huge styling than its predecessor. The front fascia borrows some cues from the recent models like the Toyota Corolla Altis and the new Camry, large hexagonal grille with two bold chrome slats on the top edged into the headlamps. From the side, it still retains a same shape, but Toyota has now been tweaked a bit by the shape of the glass area.
Speaking of the interior, the new Innova has received a huge upgrade with dual-tone upholstery, faux-aluminium trim and higher trims will be offered with leather upholstery and captain chairs too. The features that make this MPV upmarket are a dual-zone climate control, LED mood lighting and a cooled glovebox. All variants will get a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen system, though features such as navigation, voice command recognition, Bluetooth telephony and SD card support will likely only come on top-ranging models.
Interesting part comes under the hood, the new Innova will be powered by a 2.4-litre GD series engine that has received an 45 bhp increase, which now churns out 147 bhp and is connected to five-speed manual gearbox, but with an option of a six-speed automatic gearbox also. The Innova Crystawill sport an all-new 2.8-litre GD-series motor, and as of yet the power output has not been specified by the brand. The company is also planning to come up with a petrol variant after the diesel scandal in NCR.
As the new Toyota Innova receives new exterior, interior and engine it will be fairly bit pricier than the current model.
