Toyota Innova Crysta has registered over 33,000 bookings since its launch on May 2, 2016 in the country. The company has delivered more than 24,000 units of the MPV in a short span of two months as it commenced deliveries from May 13, 2016. Still over 9000 units of the Innova Crysta are yet to be delivered, while the general waiting period is less than two months, told Mr. N. Toyota India launched the new iteration of the Innova MPV in a price range of Rs. 13.83-20.77 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Mumbai). Though, the company wasn't able to sale the MPV in the Delhi-NCR due to the ban imposed by the Supreme Court on the sales of diesel vehicles with engine capacity 2000cc or above. Hence, the Japanese automaker launched the Innova in petrol guise, a couple of days back, in a price bracket of Rs. 13.72-19.62 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The MPV is available in three grades in both petrol and diesel fuel trims: GX, VX, and ZX. It is offered in both the 7-seater and 8-seater versions with an option of automatic transmission. Toyota Innova Crysta is ages ahead of its predecessor with exquisite range of features like 3D Design Combination Meter with 4.2-inch TFT Multi Information Display, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, Automatic LED projector headlamps, Ambient illumination, Upper glove box with cooling, One touch tumble second row seat, Rear Auto AC with Digital Display, and Easy slide front passenger seat.
Talking about the powertrains, the Innova Crysta diesel in available with two engines: an all-new 2.4L engine and an all-new 2.8L engine. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the latter is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.8L 6-speed automatic (top-end) variant, which has accounted for over 50 percent of the bookings, has the maximum power of 172bhp and highest torque of 360Nm, while returning an impressive fuel economy of 14.29kmpl. As for petrol derivatives, they are powered by an all-new 2.7L Dual VVT-i engine which generates top power of 164bhp and peak torque of 245Nm. The engine is on offer with two transmissions: an all-new 6 speed Automatic Transmission and an all-new 5 speed Manual Transmission. The manual variants have a mileage of 9.89kmpl, while the automatic variants come with a decent fuel economy of 10.83kmpl. For those asking, Toyota has sold over 6 Lakh units of the previous-generation Innova MPV in India.
