Toyota Innova Crysta touches 75,000 Sales Mark

Toyota Innova Crysta has turned out to be a real gold-digger for the Japanese automaker, just like its predecessor, in the Indian market. The company recently announced that it has retailed over 75,000 units of the MPV in the domestic market since its launch on May 4, 2016 in the country. In addition, the 2016 Fortuner SUV has also been receiving stellar response as in just five months time, over 10,300 units have been sold. Both these products have enabled Toyota to post a 12 percent growth in sales from the period April 2016 to March 2017 when compared to sales in financial year April 2015 to March 2016.

Commenting on the monthly sales, Mr. N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "We clocked a massive growthof 81% this month when compared to the domestic sales in March 2016. Both the new Fortuner & Innova Crysta have attributed to this growth. In just five months, the new Fortuner has been able to clock more than 10,300 units which further reiterates its popularity amongst our customers. We would like to thank our customers for this overwhelming response." As for the Toyota Innova Crysta, the majority of the sales has come from the flagship ZX  automatic variant, which comes at a sticker price of Rs. 20.78 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai).

As for features, the Innova Crysta MPV comes with 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DVD player, AC vents for the second and third row, and 20 bottle holders, etc. to name a few. On the safety front, 3-airbags (dual front and driver knee), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) come as standard in the entire range. Being based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), it is offered with a choice of two diesel engines: 147bhp 2.4L engine and 171bhp 2.8L engine. The former and less powerful engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the latter and more powerful powertrain comes only with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
