The Toyota stable has two new oferings for the diesel hatchback Liva. Till recently, the Liva was only available in the J, G and V variants as the petrol offerings and JD and GD variants as the diesel offerings. Now available in the VD and VDSP variants, it has been prittied up for those who like a dash of chrome and alloys on their cars.
The VD and VDSP variants now sport things like a double chrome front grille and chrome on the boot and ORVM turn signals, fog lamps, rear wiper, and a set of 12-spoke alloy wheels.
The interiors are a bit more interesting now with a tachometer, wood finish door armrests, dual tone interiors, yet more chrome with some on the gear shift stick knob, rear defogger, bluetooth compliant music system, steering mounted audio controls, a leather wrapped steering wheel and an array of saftey features such as dual airbags, Anti-lock braking system and Electronic brakeforce distribution system.
For those of you who were expecting more in terms of power and peppiness, there is bad news. The car remains unchanged performance wise. It has the same 1364cc D-4D diesel engine with the same output on the spec sheets. The car uses the standard 5-speed M gearbox.
The variants can be yours if you shell out INR 6,72,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the VD and INR 7,12,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the VDSP.
