Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently debuted the Yaris sedan in India at the 2018 Auto Expo, which would soon make its launch in the mass market segment. The Japanese car manufacturer will launch the facelift version of the Platinum Etios and Etios Liva. Since the launch of the Etios in December 2010 and Etios Liva in June 2011, both the models received updates twice in the duration, where the recent changes were made in September 2016.
Speaking in an interview with a publication, Shekar Viswanathan, Vice Chairman & Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “It is an easy task to excel in a segment, where you are already doing well. The challenge for us is not in terms of product acceptance. The products we have launched in the A & B segment - Etios series -- have been accepted by the consumer. The product itself is excellent. But we must also not forget it is the most competitive segment of the world car market. The pricing is very thin. But we need to compete in that segment. With the improved product and hopefully creative market penetration, we will bring a newer version of Etios series.”
Though, there are no details as to when the Toyota Platinum Etios and Toyota Etios Liva facelifts will make their launch in India. Currently, the Japanese is focused on the coming launches including the Yaris Sedan mostly likely by May 2018.
