Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to roll-out the facelifted version of its top-selling premium MPV and SUV – Innova and Fortuner, which are expected to be launched in the country by the end of this month. As to the leaked reports, both the models will be getting some feature updates along with equipment changes.
The Japanese auto manufacturer introduced the Innova Crysta and new generation Fortuner in India last year. Presently, the Toyota Fortuner is offered in six configuration options including two petrol engines in automatic and manual transmission versions with a 4×2 drivetrain and four diesel variants in AT and MT options with 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains.
One of the major upgradations to the car line-up will be the next-gen Fortuner TRD Sportivo, which will be offered with the 4×2 AT option in diesel trim. The new Fortuner will be getting LED fog headlamps. Moreover, it will be equipped with an engine stop-start system. However, the automaker is yet to disclose whether the Thai-spec TRD Sportivo or the Indonesian-spec TRD Sportivo will be launched in India.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is presently available in five trims: E, G, GX, VX and ZX, among which, E and G trims are made to order. With the latest upgradations this month, the halogen fog lamps will be replaced by LED fog headlights. The Innova Crysta G trim will be getting rear AC whereas the VX trim will be equipped with a navigation system. The GX trim will get additional equipments and rear cup holder in the eight-seater model.
As for the Innova Touring Sport, which is available in only two trims: VX and ZX, the VX trim of the petrol version will be getting a new 6-speed manual gearbox instead of the conventional 5-speed gearbox. In terms of safety features, the VX MT trim will be featured with VSC, TRC and HAC as well as a navigation system unit. The Innova Touring Sports AT trims will also get an engine stop-start system.
