The Japanese automaker, Toyota is all set for the launch of the new generation Innova Crysta in the country in the last week of April 2016. Being built on a new ladder-frame chassis that has been redesigned, the new generation Innova Crysta boasts of mechanical and design modifications and moreover speaks for a better safety. The car made its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February and after its unveiling, the growing demand for the new Innova Crysta forced the brand to pre-pone the launch.
Though, the company has not confirmed the exact date of the launch, but the dealers have already started taking pre-orders for a booking amount of Rs 50,000. The 2016 Innova Crysta will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines and the deliveries for diesel will begin from 13th May, while the petrol variant’s delivery will take some time, starting in August. The new “GD” engine is said to be 10% more efficient than the existing models and is likely to return 11 kmpl in city and 15 kmpl on highways.
Under the hood, the Innova Crysta will be available in a brand new 2.4-litre GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-I. The 2.4-litre GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler is capable to dish out 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque when connected to an AT, and 342 Nm of torque with manual transmission. The petrol unit is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i that delivers 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,700 rpm with MT and AT options.
In Indonesian market, Toyota has equipped the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta with ABS, EBD and airbags (dual front and driver knee) as standard and we expect it to be pricier than the ongoing model.
