Triumph Motorcycles to settle down its plant in Haryana instead of Karnataka
Snapshot: Due to negligence of state government the company has withdrawn its investment in Kolar plant and will now be expanding its base in Manesar, Haryana!
The iconic British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles, earlier announced their plans of setting up their plant in Narasapura industrial area in Kolar district, Karnataka. But due to bureaucratic hassle, the company will now be setting up their manufacturing plant in Haryana. Triumph also made a part the payments in advance for the land acquisition but since the process was never initiated by Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) the company was never allotted the land.
The Karnataka based manufacturing plant was supposed to be wide spread in 30 acres of land with a production capacity of 2, 50,000 units. The company will now be expanding its base in Manesar, Haryana and will be starting off with the plans very soon. As indicated earlier by the Vimal Sumbly, MD Triumph India the company was not very interested in going full-fledged with the Karnataka operations and they have also sought a refund of the earlier investments for that plant. According to sources, apart from Triumph Motorcycles, there are four other investors who have withdrawn their investments from the Karnataka government due to similar reasons. Stay tuned for more updates.
