Triumph Motorcycles India has commenced the deliveries of the Rocket 3 R in the country. It was launched last month at the India Bike Week in Goa at a starting price of Rs 18 Lakhs (ex. showroom) and the deliveries have begun within a month's time. Triumph Rocket 3 R is offered in the Indian market in a couple of paint shades: Korosi Red and Phantom Black. The bike rides on specially created Avon Cobra Chrome radial tyres of 17-inch (front) and 16-inch (rear).
The delivery of the first set of motorcycles will start from today in Delhi, Pune, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kochi while the second batch of the motorcycles will be delivered in February and March. The company officials revealed that all the 40 units allocated for the Indian market have already been sold out and it will leave no stone unturned to ensure timely delivery of the bikes. Triumph Rocket 3 R draws power from the world's biggest motorcycle engine ever developed as its capacity stands at 2500cc.
The 2500cc in-line three-cylinder engine of Rocket 3 R generates a maximum power output of 165bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque performance of 221Nm at 4000rpm. The torque is stated to be the highest ever of any production motorcycle retailed to date while it is also approx. 71 percent more than its nearest competitor. Being the British brand's flagship offering, it is based on a new chassis which has resulted in a weight loss of around 18.5 kgs. Some of the premium features of the bike include cornering ABS, traction control, four riding modes, and cruise control.
