Triumph Speed Triple 1050R imported for homologation, says report

Snapshot: The Triumph Speed Triple 1050R carries exactly same looks but on the performance basis, Triumph Speed Triple 1050R is meaner and more powerful.

It was 2013 when Triumph motorcycles entered into the Indian market and since then Triumph has been competing fiercely into the Indian superbike market. The British motorcycle manufacturer was quick to expand the dealerships across the length and breadth of the country. Triumph motorcycles is known for producing some of the most iconic motorcycles of all time including Bonneville, Daytona, Tiger and Speed Triple.

It looks like the British manufacture is looking forward to introduce a new model in the existing line-up in India. According to ongoing reports, Speed Triple 1050R has been imported in the country for the homologation purposes. The Triumph Speed Triple 1050R carries exactly same looks but on the performance basis, Triumph Speed Triple 1050R is meaner and more powerful even though same 1050cc liquid-cooled, 12-valve, in-line three-cylinder engine is carried over but tuned to produce more power. The engine now produces 134bhp while the standard Speed Triple produces 125.2bhp. Apart from engine tuning, the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 also utilizes a double tube, twin spar design frame that reduces the motorcycle’s weight and enhances overall strength over existing frame. It will follow the CBU (completely-built-unit) route and hence will be slightly high on the price part. When launched it will lock horns with the competitors like Yamaha FZ1, Kawasaki Z1000, Suzuki GSX-S1000.
