The legendary British bike maker, Triumph Motorcycles has recently unveiled the new Speedmaster which will soon make its official debut in the Indian market. The bike has been designed for riders who like Bonneville series of motorcycles with a more laid-back attitude and style. This could also be said as a group of people who indeed like the Bobber but is keeping themselves from getting one because of its single seat setup.
The Speedmaster has been given the same platform as the Bobber, it shares the same wheelbase and also the same single rear monoshock setup. Talking about the differences, it gets different steering geometry and smaller rake angle that should technically make it agiler.
The Speedmaster also utilizes the same 1200cc parallel-twin engine as seen on the Bobber but it has been tweaked as per its own character. The engine now delivers 76bhp@6,100rpm while peak torque of 106Nm arrives at a low 4,000rpm. While talking about the electronics bit, the bike offers two riding modes, ABS and switchable traction control as standard. Apart from this, the Speedmaster also gets standard cruise control which makes it the only retro modern bike in Triumph’s line-up to offer this feature.
We expect the bike to have a price tag of around Rs 9.4 lakh when it is launched in the Indian market. Stay tuned as we bring you more news from the auto world.
