TVS Motor Company - the Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer has asked the Apache RR 310 owners to get a complimentary update. Apache RR 310 happens to be the flagship motorcycle of the homegrown brand which is appreciated for its design, performance and build quality. TVS will notify the Apache RR 310 owners about this update through a SMS. The fully fared motorcycle was first showcased at Auto Expo - The Motor Show 2016 and it was named as Akula 310 R concept.
The update includes - an improved and updated ECU to enhance the engine performance, increased bar-end weights to counter the already minimal vibrations on the RR 310s, a new chain roller and an all-new visor to increase the overall aerodynamics of the Apache RR 310. All these changes are free of cost and the owners will receive a much-improved bike without spending a single penny. The Apache RR 310 owners can take their bikes to the nearest dealerships for the update or they can get this done when they'll take their bike for a regular servicing.
TVS Apache RR 310 was jointly developed by TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad. The motorcycle is manufactured at the homegrown brand's Hosur based plant. Apache RR 310 is powered by a 313 cc single cylinder motor which is also seen on the BMW's G 310 R and G 310 GS motorcycles. The liquid-cooled motor on Apache RR 310 produces 33.5 bhp and 27.3 Nm of torque. Apache RR 310 has a top speed of 160kmph and goes from 0 to 60kmph in just 2.93 seconds.
The fully faired sports bike - TVS Apache RR 310 is priced at Rs. 2.23 lakhs and competes against KTM RC 390 (Rs. 2.41 lakhs), Bajaj Dominar 400 (Rs. 1.70 lakhs), Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Rs. 2.98 lakhs), Yamaha YZF R15 V3 (Rs. 1.27 lakhs). Except the Dominar 400, the Apache RR 310 is the most affordable sports bike which also gets a slew of feature like - slipper clutch, LED headlamps and tail lamps, fuel-injection, Dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, making it a pure race track weapon.
