TVS launches Scooty Zest 110 at Rs. 42,300

Snapshot: The latest automatic scooter from the Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer is its bet in the ever emerging scooter market

TVS Motor today launched today a scooter it had shown for the first time in Auto Expo earlier this year - Scooty Zest. The small scooter has looks that are fresh from the company and looks stylish with its interesting panels and four interesting looking colour combinations. The rear seat is wider for more comfort and can store 19 litres of stuff under it. The new and redesigned things include body panels, headlight cluster, LED turn indicators, meter console, powder coated rims and give it a very distinctive look.

The Zest is powered by a 109.7cc engine that delivers a maximum power of 8PS at 7,500rpm and maximum torque of 8.7Nm at 5,500rpm which delivers power with the help of a CVT-i transmission. The comfort will be supported with telescopic front forks and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear. The 110mm of drum brakes at the front and 130mm at the rear are enough to stop the tubeless tyres when needed. The new Scooty Zest 110 will be available in four colour schemes - Brilliant Turquoise Blue, Volcano Red, Black and Pearl White.

The Rs. 42,300 of price tag (ex-showroom, Delhi) will make this scooter compete with Honda Activa, Suzuki Let's, Yamaha Ray and Hero Pleasure and will target women riders specially. TVS should be banking a lot on this scooter and its success will actually be a deciding factor if TVS wants to leave behind Bajaj Auto to claim the third spot.
