TVS Motor Company grows by 21%

Snapshot: For the quarter that ended in September 2016, the two wheeler sales of the company, grew by 23.1 per cent to 7.95 lakh units including exports against 6.46 lakh units of two wheeler for the same period last year.

Home grown two and three wheeler manufacturer TVS motor company has registered a revenue growth of 20.6% for the last quarter, that ended in last September 2016. Total revenue of TVS grew to massive Rs 3726.31 Crores against Rs 3089.42 Crores as compared to the same period of 2015. The revenue grew mainly due to the overall growth in two-wheeler and three-wheeler sales in India.

For the quarter that ended in September 2016, the two wheeler sales of the company, grew by 23.1 per cent to 7.95 lakh units including exports against 6.46 lakh units of two wheeler for the same period last year. The sales of motorcycles grew by 30.2 per cent to 3.32 lakh units compared to 2.55 lakh units of motorcycle last year, scooter sales was also grew by five per cent to 2.29 lakh units from 2.18 lakh units last year.

However the export of TVS has seen a slight slowdown in recent times with 1.12lakh units from 1.27lakh units. The three wheeler sales has also seen a slight slowdown with 20,401 units against 32,922 units sold last year in the same time frame.

TVS's Profit Before Tax (PBT) has seen a decent development of 31.1% to Rs 234.04 Crores in the second quarter of 2016-17 as against Rs 178.46 Crores in a similar time span of the past financial year. Benefit After Tax (PAT) expanded by 33.4% to Rs 177.39 Crores in the quarter under review as against Rs 132.96 Crores in a similar time span a year ago.
