- TVS Motor Company August 2019 sales were better than in July 2019.

TVS Motor Company has registered a negative growth of 16.5 percent in August 2019 sales as compared to the same month last year in the domestic market. The company sold a total of 290,455 vehicles in August 2019 while it sold a staggering 343,217 units in August 2018 in the Indian market. Currently, the whole automobile industry, including the two-wheeler, four-wheeler, tractors, and heavy vehicles, is witnessing an all-time low from the past 3-4 months.
Talking specifically about August 2019, TVS sold 275,851 units while in the corresponding month last year, it had retailed 330,076 units. The domestic sales stood at just 219,828 units which are way less than the 275,688 units sold in the same month last year in the Indian market. Even the popular products in the company portfolio such as Apache, Jupiter, and Ntorq were a victim of reduced demand. The total motorcycle and scooter sales for the month of August 2019 for TVS were 109,393 units and 109,272 units, respectively which is nowhere near the numbers of August 2018 which stood at 131,743 and 126,676 units. In all, the domestic market sales for TVS, identical to its competitors like Hero and Bajaj was miserable.
However, TVS Motor Company had some respite in the form of the exports which grew by 6 percent. The company's export figures stand at 69,703 as compared to 66,028 units exported during August 2018. The two-wheeler exports grew by a 4 percent increase from 54,388 units in August 2018 to 56,323 units in August 2019. In addition, the three-wheeler sales of the Company grew by 11 percent increase from 13,141 units in August 2018 to 14,604 units registered in August 2019.
