Exciting news fills the air just before the Auto Expo 2016 with TVS Motor taking wraps off the Apache RTR 200 4V. This motorcycle will be available with a brand new 197.75cc engine in both carburetted as well as fuel injected fuelling variants. The base carburettor variant is priced at Rs 88,990 while the fuel injected variant without ABS is Rs 1.07lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). ABS braking assist variant will soon join the line-up and will be priced as Rs 1,15lakh. The carburetted version will deliver 20.2bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 18.1Nm. On the other hand the fuel injected model has 20.7bhp of maximum power with the same peak torque figure.
The new Apache has mostly been tuned to deliver optimum performance for city riding, and will come equipped with oil cooler. Even Pirelli tyres will be on offer for interested customers as opposed to the standard Remora tyres. The twin muffler design includes two catalytic convertors to meet emission restriction and has been tuned for a better base note as well. The engine delivers a more stable torque curve to enhance city riding and encourage lesser gear shifts. TVS Motor claims top speed for the carburetted Apache to be 127kmph and 129kmph for the fuel injected version. Acceleration from naught to 100kmph is a quick 12seconds. All seven available colour schemes will be available in matte finish.
The all-new sporty body design is complimented by a fully-digital instrument cluster. Sharper LED position lamp adds to the aggressive character of this machine. TVS claims much emphasis has been rendered to refinement of the engine and build-quality.
