Chennai based TVS Motor reported its July sales figures which is nothing short of being impressive. TVS sold 2,03,092 vehicles, including scooters, motorcycles and three-wheelers, this July. This number is 32.15% more than 1,53,656 - units TVS sold in July 2013.
Total two-wheeler sales rose by 32% to 1,94,128 units from 1,46,671 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,64,571 units which is a 30% increase over last July's numbers.
Scooters bought some good relief for TVS by registering a growth of 64%. In July 2013, TVS sold 36,900 scooters and in July this year, it sold 60,619 scooters. Motorcycles grew by 33% from 57,886 to 76,767 units TVS sold this July. Exports grew by 41% to 26,145 units from 36,986 units for the same month. Three-wheeler sales increased by 28% to 8,964 units against 4,712 units it sold in July last year.
This growth is very significant for TVS, thanks to the phenomenal growth the scooter market has been witnessing. TVS offers scooters like Jupiter, Wego, Scooty Pep and Scooty Streak, and plans to invest more in scooters in the year ahead. According to a data released by TVS a few weeks ago, TVS had left behind Bajaj Auto to take the number three spot in terms of domestic sales.
