American based two-wheeler manufacturer, UM Motorcycle had recently launched its Renegade range in India. The motorcycles under this range are the Renegade Commando and Renegade SportS. The third bike, Renegade Classic is scheduled to be launched in June 2016. According to the Company, they have crossed over 1000 booking and the deliveries will soon commence from June of this Year.

All three motorcycles received a 279cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. While the Renegade Commando churns out a maximum power of 25bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 21.8Nm at 7,000 rpm. The power figures of other two bikes are still a mystery. It features include hydraulic telescopic suspension at the front while at the rear it is filled with dual shock-absorber. Other features such as high raised handlebars, tubeless tyres, blind-sport tyres and an impressive height of 756mm make it an apt product for Indian Roads.

Considering its competition, the Company has managed to put a decent price tag on these bikes ranging between Rs 1.49 to Rs 1.59 lakh (ex, showroom). In India, it will compete against Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield and Bajaj Avenger Street.
