With every passing generation of its cars, Mercedes-Benz is making a huge improvement in terms of the design. We have seen in the past how visually appealing the new-generation Mercedes' have become, be it the 2015 C-Class or be it the new S-Class. And now the Stuttgart based manufacturer is ready with the 2016 C-Class Coupe.
The new and highly anticipated C-Class Coupe has been spied for the very first time with minimal camouflage, revealing the final design. Mercedes-Benz designer Gorden Wagener describes the Coupe as the “coolest version” of the W205 generation, and considering the sleek looks - thanks to the sloped roofline and heavily inclined rear window - we bet he is right.
The test mule is most probably the AMG model of the new age C-Class Coupe as it is riding on the five-spoke alloys and wearing a Hyacinthrot Metallic Red paint. The front fascia of the coupe is almost similar to the C-Class sedan, while it is the rear end that has changed noticeably. It comes with a different trunk lid, a prominent spoiler and newly designed taillights.
The new C-Class Coupe is not all about the looks and it is made for performance and sportiness. Mercedes-Benz has lowered the car by almost 4 cm, lowering the centre of gravity and in turn better road performance. The sportiness quotient, though, will affect the comfort and practicality, which will be a bit on the lesser side.
This particular AMG model, that has been caught on the camera, will come powered by a range topping twin turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that will be offered in two states of tune - a 469 bhp and 648 Nm unit and a 503 bhp, 698 Nm unit. The latter is said to push the AMG C63 Coupe from 0-100 kmph in under 3.9 seconds and have an electronically limited speed of 290 kmph.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 Coupe will be unveiled on the coming 19th August, and we will get most of the details about the model. Chances are that the Mercedes will also reveal lesser spec model along with the C63 at the unveiling.
