Ever heard of a race named 'Blue Train'? Well, neither did we before coming across this piece of news that Bentley has unveiled a special edition Mulsanne called the Mulsanne Speed Blue Train. This special edition Mulsanne is launched to commemorate the 'Blue Train' race win by the Bentley chairman himself, Captain Woolf Barnato in 1930, 85 years ago.
To make its debut at the Techno Classica show, the Blue Train Mulsanne will be one of its kind Bentley. The Mulsanne Blue Train will get a revised grille integrated with a square mesh pattern that reflects the original Speed Six. While the 4-door luxury sedan features an all-black alloy wheels, the rest of the car is left untouched apart from a special black paint.
Though, what is exciting in the special edition car is the interiors. The Mulsanne comes with the "Blue Train 85 Years" tread plates and an "expertly crafted veneer image of the original Bentley Blue Train Speed Six." The first model will also come with a personalized 'hamper' with Robbe & Berking silver plated cutlery, Haviland Limoges porcelain crockery, LINLEY crystal champagne flutes and an Angora picnic rug.
Richard Charlesworth, Bentley Heritage Collection boss says, "The Blue Train is one of the most famous and celebrated cars in the world, and it perfectly embodies the racing spirit of the Bentley. Woolf Barnato was a three-time Le Mans victor, but winning the Blue Train race captured the public’s imagination, and fuelled the legend of the Bentley Boys."
The production of the Bentley Mulsanne Blue Train special edition is limited to four units only and they are available for customers in continental Europe only.
