The Rapid Spaceback is the new member that came into the Skoda family earlier this year. The production of this vehicle started on 19th of August in Skoda’s hometown plant located in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. Even though the specs and pictures of the car have already been published, the Spaceback will make its first official premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, yet another video of the car taking a spin around town has been released, the advertised Spaceback wore a red and black colored skin with dull black finished alloys, this car will be the top end model of the Spaceback fleet.
The Spaceback will hold a place between The Fabia Combi and the Octavia Combi. One tiny detail the company forgot is the fact that, at first glance the Octavia Combi and the new Spaceback could be easily mixed up with each other, because both look almost exactly the same, even though the Spaceback shares many aspects with the normal Skoda Rapid. The only thing that can help the people differentiate is the length of the car. The Octavia is a wee bit longer than the Spaceback.
The Spaceback as known by now, will be powered by 3 engines, one petrol and two diesel. The petrol will be a 1.2 liter TSI with 103 BHP, the diesel will be a 1.6 liter with one being 88 BHP and the other with 103 BHP. The car is likely to fight out with rivals like the Hyundai i30, Ford Focus, Kia Cee’d or the VW Golf. Exterior changes include a tinted panoramic glass roof that flows all the way to the rear door, 10 spoke alloy wheels, spoiler, and horizontal orientations. The interior consists of a 3 spoke steering wheel, new seat covers and stylish trims.
