Good news for the Vespa fans in India. Piaggio has made it official that they are bringing in two new Vespa scooters in the country by mid-2016. The Italian firm also showcased these scooters at the ongoing Autoexpo 2016 and they seemed to pull a lot of audience at the show. Both the Vespa 946 and the Vespa GTS 300 will also make way to the Indian market very soon.

Vespa 946 will land here in two variants namely the Bellissima and the Emporio Armani, while the GTS 300 will be offered as a standard model. Both the scooters will feature ABS and Traction control as a standard and these models will stand apart in the Indian scooter market due to fact that these will be the most expensive scooters ever seen in our market.

As the company says, these scooter will not target a large set of audience but to establish a brand image in the market. In discussion with a website TG.com, Stefano Pelle, CEO, Piaggio India, confirmed that “The 946 is on for homologation in India and both these are meant to be very expensive products. The company is not looking into sales figures boom but to establish these scooters as an image kind of product."

The Vespa GTS 300 propels a 278cc single cylinder engine that churns out 21.2bhp of maximum power and the Vespa 946 runs on a 125cc engine. Share your views on the same in the comment section below.
