Chevrolet India is not doing too good in the country and neither are the majority of its products. But one product that hogged much of the limelight and is doing fairly well in the is the compact Beat hatchback, which is actually known as the Chevrolet Spark in many countries. And now Chevrolet has revealed the 2016 facelifted Spark at the ongoing New York Auto Show.
From the outside, the new Spark gets same proportions as the previous model, but with more evolutionary design. The front of the hatchback gets an all-new dual port grille surrounded by traditional headlights. While the side of the car gets prominent lines, it is the back that has got some major changes. It gets protruded character lines, a sloping roof and a new tailgate.
While not much of the details about the interiors have been revealed, the video showcasing the Spark gives us few glimpses. Chevrolet has already confirmed that the hatchback will get more comfortable seats with high quality fabrics. The 2016 Spark will also get high-end features like the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with 7-inch display.
Under the hood, the power is provided by a 1.4 litre Ecotec four-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 98 bhp. The power will be sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT) gearbox. Chevrolet claims that the CVT gearbox will help Spark get best-in-class mileage.
The global debut for the car will happen later this year, while we can only hope that it will make its way to the Indian shores by 2016.
