Ford has finally revealed the 2017 EcoSport facelift ahead of its much-anticipated global debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The sub 4-meter SUV was introduced by Snapchat, which is the world’s first-ever vehicle reveal via this app. The all-new Ford EcoSport would start arriving in dealerships in early 2018 in the US, while it would hit the Indian market by the end of 2018. The Ford EcoSport facelift would be showcased at a three-day interactive experience in Hollywood open to the public through Wednesday.
The 2017 EcoSport is available in four trim levels: S, SE, SES and Titanium. “More people are choosing to spend their time and money sharing experiences with friends and family instead of buying more stuff,” said Chantel Lenard, executive director, Ford U.S. marketing. “EcoSport fits perfectly into this growing lifestyle. It’s our smallest SUV, packed with features and personality.” It comes with the 675W Ford-exclusive B&O PLAY audio system including 10 speakers, B&O PLAY-branded tweeters and woofers in the front doors and a subwoofer in back. There is also an 8-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice recognition, alongside HD Radio technology, SiriusXM satellite radio and a dual FM radio antenna. There are as many as 30 storage pockets, bins, hooks to keep the small belongings.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport SUV is offered in 10 exterior color choices and seven ambient lighting options. All the variants feature a swing-gate-style tailgate as standard. Drivers also have the ability to start, lock, unlock and locate their vehicle from almost anywhere using available SYNC Connect with FordPass. The mobile app lets owners view vehicle information, such as the fuel level and odometer reading, when not in the vehicle. The SUV also features two fast-charging USB ports and a 12-volt power outlet. An available 110-volt outlet positioned behind the center console and another 12-volt outlet allow rear-seat passengers to stay plugged in, too. The American automaker is offering the 2017 EcoSport facelift with the award-winning 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine and 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. The latter gets Ford’s Intelligent 4WD as standard, while both the motors come with 6-speed automatic transmissions.
