Talk of performance and talk about cars, BMW M-division comes in one mind immediately. India will witness the launch of two of the high performance cars from the BMW on 27th November. BMW India has officially announced that they will launch their performance based M3 sedan and M4 coupe at the Budh International Circuit, Noida. Both these cars will come via the CBU route and come with a sticker price of around Rs 1 crore.
Both the cars will get a combination of magnesium, carbon-fibre and high-tensile materials, resulting in a light-weight yet strong structure. The weight has been reduced to upto 80 kg from the previous generation model and will enhance the performance as well as the efficiency of the car. While the torque is increased by over 40%, subsequently, the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions have been reduced.
Under the hood, both the cars will come with an all-new 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine, responsible for producing massive power of 431 bhp at 5500-7300rpm and a peak torque of 550Nm between 1850-5500rpm. The car will get an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph and an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in less than 5 seconds. The power will be sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The BMW M4 and M3 are essentially the same cars, with only difference in the car body style. While the M3 is based on the design of the 3-series sedan, BMW M4 is based on the same platform of the M3 and is more of a coupe style car.
The M-duo would rival the Mercedes-Benz C-63 AMG and Audi RS 5 in the country.
