How would you like your car to be, when travelling in a city full of crowd? A nice quiet, chauffeur driven, having loads of space inside the cabin- right? This is exactly what Mercedes-Benz promised while resurrecting the Maybach brand, the ultra-luxury, top of the line S-Class extension. After throwing away some teasers, Mercedes has finally revealed the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan at the LA Motorshow.
And if Mercedes is to be believed, this is the quietest sedan on the planet, thanks to a new Aeroacoustics technology. This technology, combined with the noise-insulating seats, "intelligent air ducting," and the wheel linings, will reduce the unpleasant noises from the road. But this is not it, apart from the world class interiors, which is arguably the nicest ever in a Silver Arrow, the sedan also boasts of some of the best mechanicals.
The car may not have much of an impressive power figures under the hood, it still produces decent 523 hp of power and 830 Nm of torque, thanks to a twin-turbocharged, 6.0 litre V12 engine. The power is enough to take the car from 0 to 100 kmph in five seconds and achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. The numbers are tough, are sufficient when compared to its major competitor, Rolls Royce.
The engineers of the car are very much impressed with all the technologies they have used in the car, but they are not opening their cards, as to what exactly lies beneath that super luxury body. The minutest of the details we have, include the brand's stellar Magic Body Control to deliver a truly sublime ride and handling experience.
Prices are not revealed yet, but they are expected to be in-line with the major and the only competitor for this ultra-luxury sedan, the Rolls Royce Phantom.
