Ford, the American autogiant is often considered as the foremost Social contributor in the Automotive sector. The company has once again extended its reach to the society, by bringing happiness on the face of underprivileged children in India. Ford, on the occasion of Children Day, launched a video for its Happy Schools initiative.
Aimed at providing holistic education to children, Ford India aims to fulfill the dreams of children by providing them better education at the primary school level. Started as a part of Ford's Global week of Caring program, the Happy School initiative is aimed towards creating an ideal learning environment for children by reducing existing gaps.
Ford has started the program in Chennai, which happens to be the production home of Ford, by tapping 21 schools and some 2000 students, studying in the Government schools. The program will not be limited to Chennai and will eventually move to Sanand, Gujarat (Ford's operation facility) and Guragon, Haryana (the National Capital region).
Apart from academics, Ford is also trying to help children acquire life skills, to help them in overall personality development. Ford has always worked towards making the world a better place, and the happy school program underpins the company's commitment to its vision.
